As a gesture of goodwill, a hole was cut in the door of the cathedral so the head of the family seeking peace could place his arm through the hole in the door to prove his attempt at reconciliation was honorable. Thus the phrase “Chance Your Arm” was coined when the head of the family reached through the hole in the door, risking his arm, he chanced his arm in order for the two families to settle their dispute and make peace. Thus is born Chance Your Arm: a fun and easy way to challenge your friends, family, coworkers, teammates, classmates, golf buddies, workout partners, whomever to keep track of the winners and losers, and to know the score.
